I’ve got a secret.
It’s killing me to keep it,
But I know I must.

I’ve got to tell you,
I’ve not always told the truth,
But maybe, someday, I will.

These lies are killing me inside,
There are things that people shouldn’t hide,
But for your safety, I think I must.
One day, when you’re strong enough,
One day, when I know your heart istough,
I think that I’ll be telling you then.
One day, when I see it fit,
One day, when I am sick of it,
That is when I’ll tell you,
But it’s sure to break you apart.

I would’ve told you sooner,
But I fear to cause you pain.
I should’ve told you sooner,
But the blood washed in the rain.
I could’ve told you sooner,
But I didn’t think that it was best.
I should’ve told you sooner,
But you’d think it was a test.

No, some things should never be hidden,
Some things just are not worth these hard decisions,
But I know that you’re not ready…

You’re not ready for the truth.
