Cubic Zirconium

Again, another stab in the back
Almost numb ‘cause I’m used to the blows
Hope builds up…only to fall
Wasn’t I the one you chose?

It’s so hard to understand
Does this really make you free?
How can this possibly be good?
Now there’s no future for me

But hey, that’s how life goes when you’re not worth it

You were so sure of us
So certain we’d make it through
Apparently 100 percent isn’t enough
Am I not good enough for you?

We’re meant to be together
I could make you believe
I shouldn’t have to try
‘Cause you said you’d never leave

But hey, that’s how life goes when you’re not worth it

We had true love
And true love never fades
You’re making a mistake
You’re pulling down the shades

All the memories and promises
Commitments and dreams
Suddenly mean nothing to you
What happened to our team?

But hey, that’s how life goes when you’re not worth it

Oh, now I’m holding you back
Well fly, little bird, be free
Be open to new ideas
Just don’t include betraying me

I thought you really meant it
I trusted that you’d wait
But Impatience won you over
Now through my tears you celebrate

But hey, that’s how life goes when you’re not worth it.
