The Way

By: Darth Sakura

“What are you doing here? In case you haven’t realize it, this is my homeroom.”

A low chuckle.

“I know.”

“Then what are you doing here?”

“What am I doing here?”

A sigh.

“Yes, what are you-”

“I heard you.”

“Then answer my question!”

“Why if I don’t want to?”

“Agh! You don’t want to answer? Fine! I’m leaving anyway!”

Hurried steps followed by the twist of a doorknob.

“I am here because you wanted me here.”

The twist stops.

“What? What kind of reply is that? Did you hit your head or something?”

Laugh and slow footsteps.

“Of course not, but I guess it was excepted from you.”

“What are you doing? Don’t get near me.”

The footsteps end.

“Oh? Scared?”

“No! But I like my personal space to remain intact, thank you.”

The leisurely steps continue.

“I told you, don’t get-”

“Don’t worry, I won’t do anything to you.”

Ironic laugh.

“Oh really? Like I am going to believe you? What about the water balloons you threw at me in at entrance of the school? Or the time you decided to redecorate my locker with awful yellow paint? Or when you put that sticky thing on my backpack making it impossible to take my things out? How about those fake papers on my ‘supposed’ nonexistence sexual life?”

The steps pause for a moment, and then carry on.

“But you don’t have a sexual life.”

Silence.

“That is hardly the point.”

Amused laugh.

“You really are something.”

“Yeah well, you can take your something to other people and start bothering them. I would really appreciate if you stopped harassing me”

“Harassing you? Is that what you think this is?”

“Well, duh. How else do you call the action of following, eavesdropping, tormenting, irritating, insulting, wearing, and bothering someone?”

“Quite the sarcastic dictionary you are.”

“Just answer the question!”

“A crush?”

“Yeah, see that’s wha-… What?”

“You look so cute, flustered. Oh, and look! You are even blushing!”

“I am not blushing!”

Steady footsteps along with a chuckle.

“And I said don’t get near me!”

“But it’s so hard when you look so adorable all uncomfortable and everything. It’s so tempting.”

“But, but. You cannot like me!”

“Why not?”

“Because, because you just started pestering me ever since you met me! I thought that you consider me an enemy of some sort, and you surely didn’t do anything to change my opinion!”

“No, what I did was much more than that.”

“What?”

“You see, ever since we met each other, I gave your life another meaning. Your days in school are not a routine anymore; you always have to be prepared for anything that I might do to you. You are the focus of a lot of gossips, and you even became popular because of me! I like to think that I made your life more interesting.”

“Well thank you so much for that, I really appreciate everything you do to me. Really, I do.”

“What can I say? I love you.”

“Will you stop that? It’s not even funny. Playing with feelings is not a game.”

“I don’t see myself laughing.”

A stomp on the floor.

“I won’t fall for that one. You just can’t expect me to believe that you love me, after-...after everything you did to me!”

“Oh my sweet one, you don’t think I’m telling the truth?”

“Sheesh. What gave you that idea?”

“So I will have to show it to you then.”

“What? Hey, what are you-…mmh!”

Kissing noises proceeded by a gasp.

“Oh my God, I cannot belie-... you- you!”

“Yes? I kissed you, yes.”

“Oh my God.”

“No need to tell me, I always knew I was incredible.”

An exasperated sigh.

“Please! You are not that incredible.”

“Then let me show you how incredible I can be.”

“I don’t need any-”

More kissing noises were heard with the appearance of not stopping.

David rolled his eyes at the sound behind the door. Some people cannot even wait until they are out of school to do their private stuff. Blowing his back bangs out of his eyes, he followed his way; somewhat embarrassed by his actions, thinking of how sometimes even the impressions you get from the people can be very far away from the truth. He smiled at the thought. No matter if they are friends or enemies, as cliché as it sounds, love always finds the way.
