Photo album

Frame 1:
First day of school
Neat uniform, broad grin (without two front teeth)
I went to school; you captured my lost expression
I didn’t know you brought a camera there though
When I see the photograph
I still remember the feeling of staring at an
Unfamiliar sea of faces, with the noise, the buzz
Of course I cried.

Frame 2:
My first prize
I was the first in class
I went up the large stage to collect the trophy
I had been working so hard for
I shook hands and turned
I saw so many people
I nearly cried
But I saw you and you smiled, CLICK
I smiled too
You saved me
That was the first of many prizes to come

Frame 3:
Bicycle lessons
Kor-Kor rode the bicycle
I was so envious that I kept bugging him
He taught me how to share beloved possessions
We went to the park
Pa and Kor-kor patiently taught me day after day
I kept crying, and fell down
But I soon mastered the skill
I didn't know you took a picture of my first successful ride
Oh, the joy on my face was so clear for all to see!
So was Pa and Kor-kor

Frame 4:
Cooking lesson
I finally learned how to cook
I cooked lunch for all of you
I know it wasn't that successful
But all of you still gobbled up everything
Maybe you were just hungry
But I believed you did that to support me
Why didn't you tell me you took the picture Pa?
I would have made myself look more presentable
You had taken me by surprise
I supposed you taught me to be less vain

Frame 5:
My first prom
You brought me to choose the gowns
You made me buy the other gown
Looks like we play reverse roles
I am more conservative than you!
I learned to put on make up
I felt like a real lady that night
Kor-kor even said that if I weren’t his sister
He would make me his girlfriend

Frame 6:
Scholarship
I worked for this all my life
I know all of you were egging me on
My strong supporters all the way
Helping me to the very last minute
When my name was announced
I saw your faces, brightly lit
Broad smiles and thumbs up
My pride was yours
Thank you!

Frame 7:
Overseas
You didn't take this photo
My friend did
I was no longer your baby
I grew up
I went overseas
We had emails, letters, phone calls
But the bond was weakened
I started to fall in love
You were all so worried
It made me laugh at times though
But I still loved you

Frame 8:
Both of us
This is one of the most recent photos
It showed that you let go
It's me and my boyfriend
You helped us take it
You approved of him
We were glad because you approved
And I learnt that part of loving is letting go
We loved each other even more
And I started to understand the meaning of true love

Author's note: ok this is quite fictional. since the last few frames are obviously made up and i dont have an older brother. Kor-kor is older brother in chinese
