Two sides of the same coin. The same side of two coins
Footsteps walk this world unheard.
Travelling beyond time and against life they go.
It is a journey made alone, and one to which many fall behind.
Beautiful and deadly
Energised and lifeless
Watching
Listening
Learning
Feeding.

You can not feel the breath as they glide past us.
You can not see them as they look into our eyes.
Living by the moonlight, dying by the sun
Trapped in the body and living on the blood.
Shadows be their shade,
Unchanging
Unmovable
Forever
Beautiful, no?

We pound this world, destroying her underfoot.
Trapped in time, like flies in amber
Death haunts our steps, chasing our dreams.
Flesh and blood
We are weak, weaponless save what we make
Homeless save what we build.
Destroying
Killing
Changing
Limited

Killing all we can
Taking what we will.
We stripped Her of everything she has
Abusing our Mother until she is forced to take steps.
We get ill and we cry, material things drive us on.
Vulnerable
Frail
Weak.
Horrible, no?

Once us, never again
Living like us, talking as such.
The mask is forever held on for the fear is great.
The balance must be kept in case the ground swallows them whole.
Fall one way and they are consumed,
Driven by blood, the kill and the slaughter, driven insane by the pleasure.
Fall the other and the madness returns.
Wanting to be like us, aching to be what they were.

Years, decades, centuries of playing a role
Of being the wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Were does the wolf end and the sheep begin?
When does the hunter remember being the prey?
How can the teeth cut into the flesh that used to be theirs?
Tragic, no?

The colours of a canvas
The mood of a beat
The way of the words.
Building sculptures and machines, buildings and inventions
Travel the world and beyond, and understand everything in between.
We make paradise and hell,
We see the beauty and savagery of life.
Loving with our souls,
Caring with our hearts,
Singing with our spirits
Crying with our joys.
Amazing, no?

Both crave the other,
Both want the other’s touch.
To kiss and to taste,
To be and become,
Speak and to listen
To sample and be sampled
To be understood.
Intriguing, no?

Romantic?
No.
