Once upon a time... no that’s not what I’m looking for...hmm... this is harder than I thought...I know, once, in a time way away. That’s it! Isn’t it wonderful? And now it is time to begin the story.
Once, in a time way away while dragons, fairies, and unicorns were seen on a day-to-day basis. There was a young princess of a small country called Bethesda. Her name was Bella. She had long dark hair and dark eyes that told a story without words. She had cheeks with a natural blush. She was shy around people she didn’t know and the loudest most talkative around her best friends. She loved to read about mystery, adventure, and romance. Romance especially. She was obsessed with the idea of falling in love. She dreamed about prince charming sweeping her off her feet and taking her away to a more adventurous place. Then one day without noticing, he did. But I’m getting ahead of myself, let’s start...hmm...lets start on the morning that would change her life.
“Bella wake up!” said Ria, Bella’s servant. She was a benevolent, plump, red headed woman with a short temper and an Irish accent. She sang better than she cooked, which says a lot, because once you try her stew you can never eat any other. “Bella wake up! I will burn all of your books and your window seat and I won’ tell you the rumor tha’s been flyin’ around,”
Bella sat up strait her brown hair flowing to her waist in messy tangles. Bella loved secrets and Ria was a huge gossip. “What? What is it?”
“Well,” said Ria flopping down on the bed. “You know how I hate gossip, but a fairy came to the castle yesterday and told your father that a new prince was coming to learn to become a king. His mother and father both died tragically while encountering a dragon. He is also lookin’ for a wife. I know how your always lookin’ for a prince to charm in’o being prince charmin’ so I thought you would be interested. Now get dressed or you won’ have breakfast,”
Bella sat on the bed and dazed out the window. She couldn’t believe it, a prince coming to Bethesda. She hoped out of bed and looked into her closet. She pulled out three of her best dresses and posed in the mirror. She decided on a light pink off the shoulder dress with bell sleeves and a small train. Then she tried to brush the knots out of her hair then she was too tired to do anything with it afterwards so she left it down. She grabbed a small necklace that her best friend Jake, Ria’s red headed son, had given her on her ninth birthday. Since he didn’t have much money the necklace was simple but beautiful around Bella’s neck. It was a small silver heart around a silver chain. Bella admired herself in the mirror for a little while and then ran down the stairs of her bedroom. She had the best room in the house, the tower bedroom. She loved looking over the land and dreaming of her prince on the white horse to take her away. When she reached the bottom of the stairs she saw Jake. He was tall and had red hair and freckles with electrifyingly green eyes. He sang better than his mother and was now humming an Irish tune. He was very skinny, because he was allergic to almost any kind of sweet.
“Hi, Jake,”
“Hi Bella. Mom seemed to be in a hurry this morning. It isn’t because that snob is coming is it?”
“Hey he isn’t a snob. He’s a prince. That’s why I’m so dressed up. So maybe he’ll fall in love with me and take me away from this boring palace,”
“I didn’t notice that you were dressed up. Hey, you’re wearing the locket I gave you,”
“Yeah it’s my favorite,”
Jake looked at her and sighed. “You look very beautiful” But before he could finish, a trumpet fan fare played announcing the arrival of someone important. They both looked around and Bella jumped in surprise. She started thinking things like, she was too young to get married, and how many children will they have, and will they have her eyes.
Bella and Jake walked down to the courtyard, and there on a white horse was Prince Nathan, prince of Quisteria.
