A Broken Girl Can Dream

Golden hair tossled into perfection,

Pearly white teeth glisten like diamonds,

Skin radiant with happiness; good health.

Such a stark contrast to reality.

Gratifying laughter escapes pouting lips,

Walk filled with elegance and style,

Talking words of self-assurance and charm.

Such a stark contrast to reality.

Eyes deep with tears of misery and pain,

Lips secretly whispering tales of torture,

Skin scarred with lies and nightmares.

A broken girl can dream.

Pitiful sobs flee dirty and tattered limbs,

Crawling bruised and beaten to futilesafety,

Silently screaming for promises of love.

A broken girl can dream.
