Sun and Moon

The sun sits in the sky,
Shining its light of the day.
But the night always comes,
So the sun must sleep it away.
The moon sits in the sky,
Shining its light of the night.
But the day always begins,
So the moon must relinquish its might.
The sun rivals the moon.
The moon rivals the sun.
But why do they rival each other,
After each new day and night has begun?
In the early morning hours,
When both rest in the sky,
Neither shines the brighter,
As those long hours go by.
Someday, you will see,
The sun and the moon,
Shall settle their differences,
Though it won’t be someday soon.
The moon and the sun,
Shall dance through the skies,
Of both night and day,
As the clouds drift lazily by…
