A/N: I don't know about you, but my Christmas is usually never very fun.

Boxing Day Family Shindig

If looks could kill

Misletoe would be dead

Who hung it there? Uncle Bill?

I see it there above my head.

No one's noticed! Ok, that's good...

I'll slip farther into the room.

Can't let anyone ruin the mood.

Better watch out so it won't happen again.

The punch is flat,

My taste buds squirm,

The roast is oozing fat,

That casserole looks like it has worms

There's some chocolate...

Satisfaction!

And on such an attractive plate

A distraction...

Heady perfume makes me gag.

Everyone seems to wear it.

"Can you hand me that gift bag?

It says my name is on it!"

Why do we do this every year?

Fake smiles, teeth on edge?

All they do is drink more beer,

And gossip, degrade and hedge.

My eyelids droop, my head ducks low

Mom and Dad:

"It's time to go!"

Gee, leaving is so sad!
