Fall I Shall

I sit and wait for days

it seems like an eternity

no smiles

no laughs

not even a giggle

as depression slowly creeps

an assassin going for the kill

thoughts again run wild with conclusions

to the current circumstance

as I anticipate the verdict

from the one man jury

will I be set free

or sentenced to a life of solitude

this pain in my chest doesn’t ease

this pounding headache won’t leave

dry eyes moistened when I can’t hold back

the tears the flow anymore

but I still get a chill up my spine

as the worse seems eminent

I just wait for the finalization

but hope is a funny thing

a comforting blind fold

as I hope to be free

I hope that my plea

did not fall on deaf ears

but if the other’s happiness means I fall

then fall I shall,

fall I shall
