As a Finger of Death

Refrain from loving
When close to death
As he walks next to us
Love cannot be!?

Then how am I feeling
Thinking, seeing your face?

When will it end?
I wish to be free

And so much my soul hungers
For you and your touch
The empty in me screams

I shudder

I’m not sure what to believe in now
To think we might be
Or to think that love was blooming
And then to cut it off

Watch it wither, die!
I am pained
Horror at the nothing I feel

But don’t cry for me
I’ll weep for us both
