Perfect

I can hear myself giggle
As I’m swung round again,
Music echoing in my ears.
Playing with them,
They don’t understand;
This is the most carefree I’ve been in years.
Bouncing around; they smile.
And I’m happy I can keep them happy;
I feel a drunken kind of happy,
Like everything’s all blurred
And I like it that way.
Everything’s going right;
I haven’t cried once this night.
I feel so very free.
I feel like a new me.
Dressed the way I want,
Acting the way I want,
And everyone’s okay.
I feel like I’m living again,
Lazily bobbing to the beat;
My laughter rich, and deep, and perfect.
It seems to cocoon me.
Prefect, everything’s perfect.
Then I wake…
