This is my sestina "Veleggiare" dedicated to the hopes that I'll make my school's sailing team. Wish me luck!

Sestina: Veleggiare (Italian for “Sailing”)
One man stands alone on the beach, a sailor
Listening to the beckoning
Of the cool ocean’s breeze.
He climbs aboard a small sail boat
And unties the rope from the dock,
Unleashing the winds on his sail.
This morning, just this one boat will sail
With her lonely sailor
Far away from the secluded docks
Past many mightier than his boat
Only to answer his heart’s beckoning,
Harmonizing with the palm trees swaying in the breeze.
The sailor gazes at the red sail, flapping in the breeze
He pulls in some more, and off boat and master sail
To seek something they don’t know - neither man nor boat.
They’re simply following the heart of the sailor
Whose soothing lullabies are beckoning
The boat away from the confining docks.
At last they are far from the docks
Being pushed farther and farther by the strengthening breeze
But just as the wind blows stronger, the beckoning
Of the sailor’s heart calls on him to sail
Farther than any other captain or sailor
On his tiny boat.
The sailor and his small ship, come across another boat
Drifting towards the docks
Hoping to find another mate the sailor
Looks into the boat, but it sails away in the breeze
Slow enough for the sailor to see the sail
Flapping without a sailor, beckoning
For other boats to answer its coquettish beckoning
To follow suit and leave master for another boat
To sail wherever the boat decides to sail.
But all boats are tied to the docks
Except for our dear, red boat who is swaying in the breeze
Could she, would she leave her sailor?
The beckoning sea takes the boat to the docks
And lets her master climb off the boat and enjoy the morning breeze
But she is stead fast and doesn’t sail away from her sailor.
