Glas
by technically okay

if only I had the hands
. to turn this accursed doorknob
for only thinking of you
. can only make my heart throb

as I press my body against the glass
. all I can see is you
my breath fogs up and obscures my vision
. (oh, if only there was something I could do)

I could smash in this delicate design
. but would that scare you, dear?
I could watch you endlessly
. but would you notice me, even after a year?

I could scratch the glass 'til I broke through
. but would you still be there, darling?
I could whisper words of my sweet love for you
. but if you heard them, would they be startling?

Would I only be Echo
. and you, Narcissius?
Would I fade away into nothing
. watching your loves gratuitous?

Oh, if only I knew
. of something I could do . . .
