It wasn’t something I wanted.
Something I craved or needed.
To be near with you, hugged by you, loved by you.
It wasn’t something I wanted.
Something I craved or needed.
To have you whisper nothingness while we slept at night.
To stay awake in the dark, the shadows my only company.
I ended cold and alone, your body forever trapping me.
It wasn’t something I wanted.
Something I craved or needed.
At times I thought you as possessive. But that’d bring a smile to your face, and I hated that.
At times I wished you would disappear. But I knew traces of you would be left, and I couldn’t tolerate that.
It wasn’t something I wanted.
Something I craved or needed.
To have you smile with me, laugh with me, cry with me.
It wasn’t something I wanted.
Something I craved or needed.
“I was trying to protect you…”
Why did you stay by my side, smiling like nothing could ever touch you, while I screamed and cried and beat you consistently?
What happened to your heart, when I said that which could hurt you most?
“It wasn‘t something I wanted. Something I craved or needed.”
When did you leave my life, after I blinked back into reality, realizing that you actually left?
“I was trying to protect you.”
“I only wanted you.”
Author’s Notes
Um. It wasn’t suppose to end up like this. I guess I got carried away a bit. Uh… It was suppose to be about the inability to say “no” to all the love he/she received (have you guys ever noticed that I never specify genders in my stories? It‘s because I try to make it so that everyone can read them… sort of a lame reason though, right? Haha.) and crap like that… Gah… I think this is messed up a bit… but I like it. Um, I guess. Does anyone get it? It’s about 2 lovers, and one, the person in this 1st person point of view, doesn’t want his/her lover to love him/her because he/she was trying to “protect” them, by not loving them. Um. Weird, I know. It’s like the whole cliché thing of “I didn‘t want to hurt you.”
