Why 7th and 8th Graders Don’t Get Along

A dear friend asked me the other day

Why don’t 7th and 8th graders like to play?

One hates the other, the other hates back

Can’t we let up for once and just relax?

And I told my dear friend that I wonder why too

There ain’t no good reasonour school'snow a zoo

The 8th grade girls strut and stare down their nose

While those “sevies” get trampled, under their toes

All the boys try to go out with girls that are faster

While bobbin’ and speakin’ like they’re some hip rappster

I just don’t get it man, whatcha trying to prove?

Hey buddy, start moving to a more wholesome groove

“Hey Move It Sevie,” a call often heard

In addition to more than one vulgar cuss word

Everybody’s a bitch or a bastard or whore

The middle school’s stuck in an all-out grade war

I think that the reason for all this bad strife

Is the age that we’re at, when we’re so young in life

We try to be cool and do things on our own

Well maybe it’s time for a new change of tone
