Reflection

Isn’t it funny…how where ever you go people’s eyes seem to lock on.

How they dub you in a certain category…

How they pet-name you to their own liking.

When I look in the mirror I see that I’ve lost my reflection…

It has completely escaped my grasp…now I am just empty air…

The bystanders…those people unknown have taken away my counterpart.

They have put me in a place…to which I don’t belong…

They have taken my picture and hung it on the wrong wall…

Can I have my painting back…I am nothing without it…

Can they hand me my soul again...it was not theirs to take…

Can they be thoughtful enough to put life back into me…?

So I will wait in front of this mirror…wait for my reflection to return…

I don’t want to be another duplicate…

I don’t want to be another clone….

All I want to be is myself…

So I will wait…until they return my name…until they return…me…
