Wish You Were Here
Walk along the golden beach, always on my own,
Gold sun burns the white scars that litter my arm.
Wade nervously through the icy cold sea and fall.
Dirty, salty water mixes with my owndirty tears.
Wish you were here.
Lost in a city whispering the history of the ancient,
As other tourists read my own past on my arms.
Learn the cultures of strange and different lands,
Still unable to comprehend my own sheltered life.
Wish you were here.
Stare at the mountains as they tower above me,
Through cold eyes blurred by unexplained tears.
Stones laid purposefully threatening infront of me,
Fall into the mud, make myself filthier than before.
Wish you were here.
A beautiful, pure white sheet of snow falls silently,
Temperature matches my stone heart deep inside.
Put on the skis, get ready to jump off this summit,
Fall powerlessly down the hill, hoping to die today.
Wish you were here.
Wish you were here,
To save me.
