Jinxed Raven
You caught me while dancing in the rain,
Needless to say, you felt my pain,
The blood was everywhere,
Splashing onto the concrete,
You couldn’t have been kinder,
Than pick me off my feet
You know the pain like I do,
The knife to the wrist,
Beating of my heart,
Through my aching chest,
You pick me up and gently whisper,
“Fate’s going to take you”
I struggle to get free,
Blinded by my black vision,
My spasms shocking my body,
You hold me close,
And saying some words of wisdom
“Don’t be scared, just be yourself,
Life won’t take you anywhere,
If you don’t accept their system”
Is this what we call love?
Feeling pity for others,
And lending them a hand,
The last minute you realize,
It’s not pity, but sadness,
You know you were like me,
Just a Jinxed Raven in the wind
My body stops the shivering,
But it won’t stop the bleeding,
My heart and my mind is broken,
How can you see me like this?
And not turn away like the others?
I realize then, you are my Jinxed Raven,
Just one who’s accepted life is a ritual
And not the usual curse
