Stronger Than You

By Lia Star

You think you’re big
You think you’re strong
All because of that one thing
That makes you male

But you are wrong
Your existence is a lie
You are a fake
A coward of the worst kind

I am stronger
Than you’ll ever be
Because I’ve had to put up
With much more than you

For all my life
As long as I can remember
I have had to deal
With you

You have said nothing
That could be considered
Anything near kind
Your words all harsh

I’ve put up with you
Your lies, your contempt
Even your apparent hatred
Because I’ve had no choice

You think you’re big
Because you can hit me
Me, because you think me weak
Yet who is really weak

Who is the one
Who sprouts names
Like they’re normal words
When, truly, they are not

Who is the one
Who thinks they
Have the right
To hurt me

Who is really the weak one
Who has survived your torture
And still remains strong
Me; while you remain weak.
