Open Door

There once was a girl,

Maybe about seven.

She cried in her room

'Till she was eleven.

Her head in her hands,

Tears flooded her room.

She thought about life,

And her future groom.

She thought about friends,

The worst and the best.

She thought about her brother,

The five-year-old pest.

It is very tragic

How for four long years,

All that she did

Was swim in her tears.

Then she heard a voice,

Saying "Wash your face

And open the door

To your life's embrace."

At first she did not listen.

Acting like a stubborn snob.

But she finally got up,

Washed her face and turned the knob.
