Author’s note: to make up for not putting anything on yesterday, I’m putting the last really short chapter up. And I’ll put up the first chapter of the third book up tomorrow, probably. But you guys might actually end up waiting for some of this one; I’m not even halfway done with it! There’s two reasons for this, one is that I’m having some random moments of writer’s block, probably because I plowed through the first two so fast… and two because it’s a lot longer then the other two, I’m only a quarter of the way done and it’s almost as long this book alone. So be prepared to wait, and enjoy this last chapter! Chapter Nine

It had been two weeks since the war, since Lyon had died. Ryan looked in the mirror; it was his coronation day, he wore the traditional blue velvet suit and he looked at his head, sighing, thinking about the crown he would have to accept, the crown that his father had once worn. It was a bittersweet moment for him, he wanted to be king, but he had always hoped he would be older. He hadn’t wanted his father to die like this. He shook his head, trying to shake away the bad thoughts. He really and truly was excited, Sara was right; he was ready. It wasn’t like three years ago when he was prepared to be king to save his people from Mallorie; he had been young and blind to the future then. He knew now that he would rule the people well. He looked up at the portrait of his father and smiled, feeling a lump in his pocket, and then walked out the door, to the traditional place of coronation, the church, for the greatest moment in his life.

Sara stood in the front pew of the church; she was a guest of honor. She stood beside Spirit, who looked absolutely beautiful in her light purple dress, her hair up for the first time, as Sara knew. Sara herself was wearing a blue dress; Spirit had lent her pearls for her neck and her hair. She had been in the Faerie City for almost three weeks now, and away from home for almost a month. She had thought about going back to her family, they would be so worried about her… But she kept coming up with reasons to stay; she wanted to stay forever. But now she knew that after the Coronation she would have to leave, there was no other reason for her to stay. She sighed, wondering if she would ever see Ryan again after he was king. She shook her head when the music came on, organ music, she had to be happy, for Ryan. And she was happy, Ryan would be a great king, she knew that with all her heart; and he had been waiting for this for as long as Sara had known him. But there was a sad feeling in the pit of her stomach; she really didn’t want to leave, and it was bringing her spirits down a little.

But Sara forgot about this as she watched Ryan come down the aisle of the church, dressed in velvet and looking very handsome, regal-looking. She smiled at him tempted to wave, but refraining; she didn’t want to ruin the moment.

Ryan saw Sara smile at him and he grinned back, his heart was pounding, beating faster then ever. Today my life changes forever… He thought as he approached the front of the church. But instead of walking up to the priest, as he knew he was supposed to, he stopped at Sara’s pew. Sara was confused, she looked around the room, and into Ryan’s eyes; he was smiling, hiding something.

“Faeries!” he called, his voice echoing throughout the church. “Today I become your king, and I promise you, I will be the greatest king that the Faeries have ever seen, I will be dedicated to my people, but on one condition” he grinned at Sara, getting down on his knee. Sara gasped, hardly hearing Ryan’s next words, “I don’t feel right accepting this crown, becoming a king, without a queen,” he smiled, seeing her blink back tears, he opened a small box; revealing a beautiful diamond ring; “Sara Hill, will you marry me?”

The End :D cliffhanger, no? ;)
