Author’s Note: I normally don't write poetry, but I had to write it for art recieved more than a few compliments for it. It's not Frost or Dickerson, and I'm not a poet, so don't expect some kind of miracle or anything. And I think it's kind of random.

Rating: I dunno. Maybe… PG-13?

The Red War

By Supergurl15

Blood Red

Stains the browning, crumbling grass

Burning its vindictive image into the soil of the Earth

Metal against metal

Friend against friend

Brother against brother

Crimson

Scarlet

A man lay amid the chaos

His hand twitches

His arms raised to the sky

A silent, hopeful plea to his god

The brown of his eyes disappears as he draws his last breath

Blood Red

Crimson

Scarlet

He is one of the fallen

One of the casualties of war
