Childhood Illusions

Childhood illusions of grandeur

Dreaming of everything you want to be

Firemen, Policemen, Power Rangers

Never dreams of wanting to be

A crack addict, drug dealers, or in jail

A teacher, something ordinary

You dream of being the extraordinary

Never in your dreams did it cross your mind

That you were going to be poor

That you were going to have a baby

In a couple of years

As you play in the sandbox

Everything is great and beautiful

You have your dreams and that is all you need

Naïve to the horrors of the world

Lost in your sandbox

Nothing to worry about

So rest your head and keep dreaming

Because one day you might

Be that racecar driver that

You want to be

I wrote this on a piece of paper then colored all over it, a happy sun, a rabbit and other things. I had fun with it. Tee hee.
