If it is knowledge you seek

Then come to me

I will tell you why tangible wings bleed

And breathing angels fall into the empty void that is their humanity

Or why light will always be quicker than man

Fear crawling under his trembling skin

Do you wonder of the steadfast warriors of fables?

Why they are myths just like their legends?

I can tell you this and how man’s unbreakable break-

Their rings shatter; each separate dagger stabs into the cold earth - alone

Find me, to answer why the shape-shifter lies;

Why his true form is a mortal corpse that pleas for answers he thought he knew

I could tell you why human idols are cruel; more so than their equally human villains

And why the shadows they lurk in will eventually swallow them whole.

Or why the princess of people, who once thought she was righteous,

Will burn her strong skin off with the acid of somber regret

I can tell you why earthly gods must face mortality

And finally weep tears of blood that drop from wounded fingers

None can remain unscathed forever

They are not strong --

The manmade heroes and deities -

These men who have become demons believing they are so

And, in time, there will be more

And I will have more knowledge to give…
