Dream Creation

Sleepless vanity, a vision of profound perfection -

Inside my head, a sea of dreams, and my nothing, you are my ship.

A vessel that I may hide in, a strong hold upon my tattered form…

Flow me so gently away that I cannot feel the tide shift.

Rocking so softly, I’m merely soothed by the tender waves and singing of the wind

As if to wake from a dream, I’ll wake from this well rehearsed nightmare of subsistence,

inside a dream so deep and reflective.

And if I never wake upon a shore to the distant singing and dancing of the natives -

A perfect life, perfect beginnings, a new existence of what could be,

my heart would still be hushed, silent, euphoric, serene

So I’ll rest upon you, my savior, my elated creation…

Tranquility in all its waves of heaven I’ll feel, within a heart that cannot beat

I fear to feel means more than pain, and I fear to love means the same

So pull away these bars, a box of hopelessness, these tatters of the scars that mutely lie

beneath,

a surface so veiled that only God’s eyes could pierce though.

And you hold me, rock me, gentle waves humming a temperate tune, as I sail away with

you
