How can I make you love me

If you won’t let me near?

How will you know I love you

If you can’t see through your fear?

How will you ever adore me

If you never open your eyes?

How will you know I adore you

If you can’t hear my sighs?

How will you ever know me

If you question me not?

How will I ever know you

If you leave nothing to be got?

How will you know I’m leaving

If you pay me no heed?

When will you care that I’m gone?

Gone with your ill-planted seed.

How will your child know you love him?

He won’t because you won’t be there.

Just maybe it could have been different,

If you’d shown a little care.
