When someone says ‘Forever’
Is something really there?
There is no number to explain
No number to compare

How long before ‘it’s been too long’
For a promise made, or love?
Do we place our trust in the hands of a clock
Or in the being above?

Am I asking too much
For a promise to be kept?
To swear devout in love between
Or place it as contempt?

All I ask for in life, is love
For Forever to have its place
To be certain all will turn out right
To be void this bitter taste
