The young man slightly shifted his body, letting the front half of his body fall forward, his numerous chains rattling on the dark pipes. A breath of air and fog flew from the young mans mouth, as he exhaled, then inhaled. A small eruption, a huge creature, twice the young mans size, tail flailing behind it rushed past in a hurry, growling. A brush of air makes the young mans medium long, dark hair shift to the side. His dark voice echoed as he whispered.
“Ward…”
The small word made the huge creature turn suddenly, a flash of black illuminating the less darkened wall. The man, lifting himself up onto a frozen pipe, balanced as he stayed focused and watched closely to the lower level. The room was blue and black tint, and lay somewhere below twenty degress. The mans breath practically froze as he whispered again, somehow managing to balance his whole body on a pipe above the creature.
“Ward…”
The creature was alerted again, and it walked out into a dimly lit room. Its hard dark flesh and blubber kept it warm in the winter, and its long feral jaw released the long purple tongue. Spikes were aligned down its spine, stopping at the tip of its tail. It stood on its hind legs, only going down on all fours to sniff the area with its enlarged nostrils, and listen with its perked and pointy ears.
“Ward…”
The creature jerked its head up, staring at the now vacant pipe. Its cocked its head to the side, and matted its huge claws to the floor, scratching it in annoyance. The creatures ears tightened, and it lifted its head. Footsteps echoed behind it. It slowly turned, facing a blank wall.
“Ward.”
The creature turned, the young man no longer whispered the phrase we all know now. Its opened its mouth, and let out a deep, piercing growl, and began to raise its arms in anger. There was a glisten, a flash, and suddenly the creature reared back, angry and in pain. The young man stood still, his hair covering his eyes somewhat. He wore a dark jacket, with a necklace holding a certain symbol in the center. He had on a dark navy shirt, with black as night jeans, 2 silvers chains looped on his left side, one solid black one on his right. In his hand was a sword, chiseled on the edges near the base. Chains also lay attached to the end, though smaller in size. He also wore gloves, matching black of course, cut off on the knuckles of his right hand, and at the last joint of his fingers on his left. Rings were placed on his right hand, many that looked like one, many another, but most designs could not be made out, due to the tight grip on the handle of the sword. The sword was about the length of his arm, and he stood in a motionless stance, both arms extended downward, the sword in his right pointing at a downward angle. His legs were half spread open, and his mouth and facials features remained closed off to the world, except for his eyes. His eyes were almost as emotionless as his body, dimly lit silver, that changed color based on the lighting. He was medium build, and his coat lay somewhat baggy, extending an inch below his waste.
“Ward.”
A sudden invisible wave, a force, flew past and through the young man, startling the creature and making it stand, screaming and roaring. It rushed, and in a small leap, jumped toward the man. He sidestepped, and the creature slid on the slimy wet ground, catching itself and running at the man again. He jumped, swinging the sword at the same time. A huge gash formed across the creature’s face, red blood laying down a thin straight line on the ground. The young mans body flew over the creature in a crouched position, landing in the same form behind it. He spun around, this time before the creature, and swung the sword in an “X”, in two quick slices. Blood erupted from the creatures left shoulder and face, roaring, and it lifted its hind leg and outstretched it, landing a solid hit into the young man. He flew back, slamming into a wall. The creature ran at him, ramming its enormous two curved horns into the spot the young man stodd against, but it was too late and the man rolled to the side, repeatedly jabbing the sword in quick stabs into the side of the beast. The beast screamed, tried to lift itself out of the wall, and failed. It slumped down, and layed still. The man pulled his sword out one last time and with a black cloth, wiped the blood off. He began to walk away, silence once again filling the room. As he walked away the creature stood one last time, sliding itself out of the wall and turning. Lifting what was left of itself, it threw itself horns first at the young mans back-self. The young man turned, swung his sword upward, not touching the creature but startling it, and it raised its body and front legs into the air. With his other hand now clutching the sword, he pressed his right hand palm out, and spread his fingers.
“Ward!”
A blast of invisible force and small blue flashes streaked with silver, shot out of the mans hand and sent the creature flying, as it lifted into the air it began to dissolve, crack, a combination of shattering, melting, and exploding. It screamed one last time as its body dissolved and raised into the sky. The young man walked away, the way he got here, and let out a chill of air, as he exhaled, then inhaled.
