As said, this is a collection of poems I’ve written in the past. Most are from past English assignments, but a few were written without that influence. I’ve submitted three of these to a Poetry Magazine from my school. I hope one of them is published. The poems I would recommend you read would be…

1) Summer Rain

2) Metalworks

3) Elements

The Gnarled Tree

On the night of the lunar moon, a crystal tear soaks the thorny vines enveloping the gnarled tree.

It stands alone, the trees of the forest surrounding it, all the same.

Each decorated with beautiful green leaves, standing straight and tall, but not the gnarled tree.

As the thorns of the vine pierce the tough bark, the gnarled, bare limbs reach for the silver moon above, lines and scratches left scarred.

More tears of sorrow drip from the luminous moon, turning red as they fall.

As they trickle down the gnarled branches the scratches heal and the scars disappear.

The joyous gnarled tree stretches its branches to their full, glorious length.

But a sharp pain from its trunk makes the gnarled tree retract to its lesser form, weak and afraid.

The vines take over and begin to completely cover the tree, showing not even a hint of bark.

The tree, not giving up, reaches for the sky again, silently crying for help.

It sees the glimmering moon fading away.

Slowly, the gnarled branches descend, feeling left alone, helpless, defeated.

The vines even sharper thorns prick, scratch, and scrape at the bark, creating worse injuries than before.

Red liquid seeps from the cuts, and not even one other tree notices the agony and pain this gnarled tree suffers…

This was my first poem many, many years ago. I hope you like it!
