Ok I decided just to start writing something new, like I always do, and ended up going in a weird direction. Expect lots of gore and violence later on, but for now indulge in the life of someone “Less” than you. Enjoy.
(Working Title)
“Juliette!”
A heavy large older woman shouts.
“Juliette!”
A young girl, about 15 years old walks around the corner of a hallway. She has short brown hair and eyes. She stands at about 5’5 and wears a long baggy beige sweatshirt and old dirty jeans. Her hair covers a large portion of her face.
“Yes, I’m here.”
“Good, you’ve been chosen to be looked at by a family!”
The large woman bends down and whispers in the young girls ear.
“Very wealthy I’ve heard...” She leans back up and looks down at the girl with a scowl. “So hurry your scrawny little ass up and get yourself all pretty.”
The girl speaks in a quiet shy tone.
“They want to see me...today?”
: Yes today! Hurry along!”
The woman gives the girl a shove in the direction of her room.
“Don’t take forever! You’re very lucky! The Callahan Family has adopted from us before and I hear that they pamper their kids like royalty! I mean they are royalty officially or something, some retarded European snobs, but either way your meeting them at 6’clock on the dot so hurry along!
The Juliette girl was already entering her room and closing the door.
The Alderman Adoption center is all that Juliette Reynolds has known her whole life. She was abandoned as an infant, and taken in by the center. She was raised there, and lived a horrible life. Picked on constantly for being the ugliest, most timid, and the “Worst Mistake” of the kids in the center. She had only been looked upon by a few families, most of them drunk or high couples looking to be “Parents” or have a personal maid. Juliette had stayed with a few families, but had been treated worse than being in the center. Although, being extremely smart, she always finds a way out of it, and back to the center. Anything was better than being a fairytale Cinderella without the glamorous and beautiful fairy godmother part. That never happens.
Juliette, or Julie as her one in a million close friends who would always be chosen over her called her, washed her face and rolled up her sleeves. She didn’t even bother looking nice. No matter what she tried, she always considered herself ugly, and was never surprised to hear that a family wanted to see her. Her records were good, a high IQ, great in everything educational, quiet, a bookworm. But families never found her exciting. She was a walking child prodigy, and a walking lifeless body.
It was almost Six, and she wanted to get it over with. She heard the knock on her door, and the large lady entered, grabbed her by the arm and tugged her out, dragging her to the meeting room.
“Lets hope this one works, then we won’t have to look at you everyday.”
Ugly Juliette. No, she’s not a goddess of beauty. She's not even really ugly. Very pale, white skin. Huge spectacles placed upon her nose. Her messy short brown hair and boring features. Ugly was an overstatement compared to some of the other kids...
“Move along!”
..and this nurse of course.
Juliette shot a glance through the large window to the room where her examiners sat. She could already tell something was wrong, her intuition raised up a flag. The Woman and Man who sat they’re looked like parents from an Old television show in the 60’s or 70’s. That’ all the shows the center only got. Juliette cringed as the nurse reached for the doorknob to the meeting room. Would this time be different? No, it’s always the same, but then why is her heart beating so fast?
The door opens.
