Fading Colors 1-23-03

There was a man, a painter if you please,
That with his personality, painted a masterpiece.
He covered the canvas to protect the paint from wind and rain.
His efforts, however, proved in vein.
For he and his painting where connected you see.
Tis what happens when you paint your personality.
He withdrew into himself and started to fade.
And so did the colors he so carefully made.
Out on the street, his spirit it broke. And under their
Covering, the colors, they choked.
Years, and years, and years went by,
And the man let past him the world fly.

One day near the old man’s time the painting was discovered.
A young woman of twenty-five the painting did uncover.
And the paint was so faded the canvas you could see.
Twas all that was left of the man’s personality.
The moral of the story, be active in life and let in the light,
So the colors on your canvas will always shine bright.
