The Dragon
A shattering scram ripped through the valley
As the dragon cried out into the night
And the rain began to fall.
His eyes gleamed angrily in the moonlight
And he flexed his great, hulking claws.
His scales shone bright as fire
As he opened his wings,
Flinging rain into the air.
He tensed his powerful muscles
And leapt into the night.
The chilling twang of bowstrings
Echoed into the rain,
But the dragon was long gone.
