Happy Birthday Mommy

Dear Mommy, Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday from your loving husband.

He accuses you, without evidence, of deceit,

Poisoned words in a shrill venomous shout,

Causes you crushing gloom so you cannot eat.

You pack hispossessions and throw him out.

Happy Birthday from your eldest son.

He creeps from the house in the dead of night,

Maybe to steal from a house, a shop or a car,

Or search obstinately for someone to fight,

Doing anything to live life better than you are.

Happy Birthday from your only daughter.

With her scars and bruises, she is similar to you,

Aimsruin inside rather than at somebody else,

Succeeds in failing at everything she tries to do,

Lives only to die and obliterate her hopless self.

Happy Birthday from your youngest son.

Sat on the sidelines studing life pass him by,

Urgently searching for the mystery of happiness,

Educated to the extreme, he cannot laugh or cry,

No word from a soul as he drowns in loneliness.

Happy Birthday from your perfect family.

Too engrossed in their own turmoil and strife,

They cannot see your crying tears of despair,

Staring at the remnants of the once ideal life,

No longer filled with happiness, love or care.

From Your Daughter with pity.
