in the Orient,
not only do they consume
goldfish & catfish--
dark octupi occupy
in bowels, along with shark.

antennae-twitching
lobsters, still alive in dish,
are raw but eaten.

so death does end life
in both sea creatures and Man;
gilt scales flash human.

i prefer to side
with tofu duck, melon soup--
sea's treasure cherished.
