How snow dilutes the night,
tracing
silvery sugar into poison shadows,
dripping crystal syrup on the moldy eaves.

How snow
holds the hands of young lovers
who stumble
along the ice-laced streets,
dead afraid.

how the frost
of morning wakes you aching
from your sleep-curled tips of fingers
to your pixie-poisoned soul-

But the night
when snow fell, it danced
ballets of stellar light-

and your lips were blue from
sipping at the moon.
