This is a small collection of poems I’ve written about burying your sorrows and smiling for the world. Remember, it’s never god to burry these thing inside and not share them. I found that out the hard way.

Mask

I wear a smile for the world

For those who are surprised

To see me staring back at them

With melancholy eyes

Who wish my tattered edges hemmed

Cut jagged by the lies

A mask to hide my broken heart

While my love slowly dies

I paint a smile on for the world

Across my shadowed face

Happy colors to guard their eyes

From seeing my dark base

To protect me from their probing

To keep them off my case

To cover my unhappy tears

And never leave a trace

I smile so I can fool the world

And never let them know

How much pain they’re causing me

The strength of my sorrow

Just how far I’ve fallen

The depth of my new low

Just how far I’ve gone

How much further I may go
