Please note that this is my first double dactyl. I wrote it without access to the rules for the format, so please forgive any errors.

I know the last three lines are reaching, but I couldn't come up with anything better at the time. And as for postapoclytically... Well, postapocalyptic is a word, but it had too many syllables to fit my need. That's why I, ah, changed it a little. I'm hoping that it's forgiveable, given the rest of the poem requirements, and that it's still understandable given the context.
