in the dark

I touched my face

my finger explored first my chin

feeling the bumps and the fuzz of small hairs

(hairs that covered my whole body)

slowly I moved on to my cheek

but that was boring

up towards my ear.. past the first hole and

on to the earrings and then moving on

the forehead.. the bumps and fuzz

what was that? .. a zit.. and

moved across

fuzz and a scab, oh and pealing skin..

over the more defined hairs of my eyebrows

down the softness of wrinkled eyelids

to the flexible eyelashes

next came the nose, round and smooth structure

slowly the other fingers moved to the lips

caressed them softly, feeling the dry dampness

from the mouth within, the curve and the texture difference..

I closed my eyes

slept
