Chapter One
Orange Daisy
The storm.
It rages and angers over the new spouts of daisies in spring.
In the middle of the rain, our heroine, Jodie is walking half wet and soaking with a worn-out umbrella and soggy socks. It is not a welcoming sight to see her in such a state. Nevertheless, Jodie is the kind of girl that is very much ordinary and wouldn’t matter what she look like in any kind of state. She is, as she claims, an ice ream girl for she is cold and sweet.
“Hi Jodie,” greeted a voice. It is her friend Grace.
“Oh! Hi Grace,”
‘You look so .. err, “ Grace said in mid-sentence.
“wet?” Jodie asked.
“Not quite.” She smiled.
And both of the girls laugh.
“Tough day?” Grace inquired while both of them are walking in th slippery and crowded corridors of the dormitory.
“You bet.” Jodie replied.
Grace grinned and gave her a knowing look.
“Bad things sometimes happens for a reason and after every hard day there’s still a reason to smile at the end of it. “
Confused, Jodie shook her head.
“I don’t know.”
The two girls entered their room. It is meant for eight people but it is now occupied by ten. It is hard to live in a third world country after all.
Jodie decided to lay her tired body after changing clothes.
And then something caught her glance. At the corner of her eyes she saw something at the top of her pillow.
It is an orange daisy.
“Some good things happen after all,” Jodie murmured.
She looks out of the window and saw that the rain is beginning to lose its temper.
New spouts will bloom.
She smiled.
