Banzai!! Another chapter.. Just wrote them as I sat in front of the computer, uploaded as soon as a chapter is finished. I don’t want to wait for another’s writers block.

Chapter Six

A Night of Passion and Truth

Passion burns more than self-respect and the truth is the cold water that freezes it to reality.

Jeff walked steadfastly as he pulled Kirsten out of the dancehall. “I shouldn’t be doing this,” he thought to himself. “I should be looking for Jodie.”

“Can you walk a little slow?” Kirsten begged.

Jeff moved in a complete halt.

“What are you trying to do Kirsten?” he asked quite annoyed.

“Nothing. I want to be with you Jeff, that’s all.” She retort back.

“Please spare me.” He pleaded. “You know I don’t like you.”

“Of course I don’t know.” She broke again in tears. “You’re so cruel Jeff. Is it that bad to have this kind of feelings for you?”

“That’s not what I meant.” He looked guiltily at Kirsten. “Oh, come on, I’m sorry ok?” he hugged her and squeezed her back. “I’m sorry ok?”

Kirsten calmed a bit and looked at Jeff eyes still filled with tears. “Am I ugly”

“No”

“Am I a bad person?”

“No, of course not”

“Why Jeff?”

He looked away.

“You like someone else?” she asked unsure and afraid of the answer.

“Yes.”

Kirsten mustered enough courage and looked straight into his eyes. “Who is she?”

“It’s not important.”

“Of course it’s important.”

“It has nothing to do with you Kirsten.”

“It has everything to do with me. It’s the first time I’ve liked a guy this much and I’m losing a battle with a girl I don’t even knew. Give me a fair chance Jeff.”

He nod. “I see your hopes are high and you think I will like you more.”

“Of course.” She said assured. “I’m sure I’m prettier and smarter than she is. I’m popular and you can easily fall in love with me.”

“Is that a threat?” Jeff said amused.

“No, I’m just saying the truth. You will fall for me and forget about her.” She gritted her teeth and pulled Jeff close to her with a quick kiss.

Jeff was astounded and couldn’t move for a second.

Kirsten saw his reaction and gave him a smile. She smelled sweet success.

“Goodnight Jeff. Dream of me.” And she walked away.

Jeff still looking at the darkness stood confused.

“What now?”

Passion burns more than self-respect and the truth is the cold water that freezes it to reality.
