What happened to us?

When did we stop caring?

When did we loose humanity

To those alligator shoes? When did we stop and think

About the sweatshop workers?

What happened to bohemianism?

And empathy?

When did drop into the eternal pit

Of conformatarianism?

Beauty has become skin deep

No longer an expression of art

When did we loose our soul?

To mass production?

We are drones

Working like bees

To serve our queens

The supermodels

And superstars

If I’m not a size six

If I can’t

Give him a black eye

With my double d’s

What am I worth?

Nothing to society

We spread our lies

Of a utopian lifestyle

Money, glamour

Sex and lies

But who is truly happy?

We aspire to be celebrities

But what makes them better than us?

The voice, the body, the face

Or the drugs?

Or eating disorders?

Why do we feel guilty

After eating chocolate cake?

Who do we care more for :

The homeless and the starving

Or the rich and the famous?

(A/N – Conformatarianism is a word I made up. It a plural of conformist.)
