The past year has been absolutely brilliant. There is no other way to describe it.
True, the Sam Andrews fan club had started offering reward money to anyone who manages to make Sam break up with me or just kill me by any means possible, but I’m amused rather than scared.
Rachael Summers tried to claw me in History class, but drew back when I started yelling “Whore!” to her face until I got kicked out by Mr. Tyson.
People still don’t like me; maybe they hate me more for what’s happened. However, they have stopped with the whole ‘freak’ thing, mainly because Sam is just too popular or just not insane enough to go out with a complete nut-case.
My self-esteem is getting better; I’m trying to break the habit of constantly insulting other people and myself.
Sam and I have been together for 2 and a half months now, but I feel like I’ve known him forever. He’s still always laughing at me and I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve said I wasn’t funny.
He’s my best friend and soul mate rolled into one. We fight all the time, one-sided because he’s either laughing or shaking his head at me.
Even after going steady, he’s still doing the most wonderful things for me, and the day we graduated was one I would remember for the rest of my life. We didn’t go to the prom because as I said, dances and such are stupid and cursed!
“Hurry up Kate, it’s really good I promise” Sam said, his voice mysterious and the charming sparkle back in his eyes.
“What is it?”
“A surprise, now close your eyes”
I shook my head impatiently, this was so stupid. “Just show me”.
Sam rolls his eyes at me and smirks “I knew you’d say that”.
I feel his hands cover my eyes and groan in frustration. What did he what to show me? My curiosity was practically killing me.
He led me down a path for a few minutes and then took his hands away, making my jaw drop wide open.
I pinched my cheek to make sure it was real. This was so unbelievably stupid. You are probably wondering what I am talking about. It was a...
Horse-drawn carriage with a ….? What the hell? I blink repeatedly to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating.
Ok, wait for it…there was a yacht attached to the carriage. A yacht! Bet you didn’t see that one coming!
“Um…what sis…huh?” I stutter, yup, it was a surprise all right.
Sam gives me a playful smile, "well I figured we’d go for a ride and then for a cruise and maybe camp in the yacht and you know, look at the stars or whatever”
I started giggling, yes me, Kate is giggling! Has the whole world turned to Cadbury chocolate or something? Wouldn't it be nice if the world was Cadbury...la la la la la la lala la, ok, I'll shut up.
Sam turns beet red and I hug him to me, getting really excited. This was such a cool date and he was being so charismatic and chivalrous, it made me feel like a princess and that automatically gives me bragging rights. Lizzie is going to be so jealous!
“Young love” someone muttered and I realized there was a man sitting on the carriage. Wow, this must have cost Sam a pretty penny.
And then Sam decides to be the perfect gentleman, so much so that if he took it a notch further, I would have to strangle him for being a mush-pot.
He took my hand and opened the door of the carriage for me. It was so luxurious inside, and there was dinner with fine cutlery and all that jazz set up as well.
“How much did this cost you??” I asked him, my eyes wide with shock and exhilaration, mostly shock.
He shrugged nonchalantly. “Not much”
I give him a huge smile. "You know what? You're the worst liar in the world"
The evening was perfect, and I mean flawless, and fantastic. I even got to ride on one of the horses. Yippee!
We did end up ‘camping’ in the yacht, where we pulled out a mattress, yup, there was a mattress! Can you tell I’m giddy? And then he just held me to him, I could feel his heart beat wildly and I was filled with so much warmth and belonging.
This was right. All my insecurities fell away as I lay there under the stars, the ocean breeze making me hang to him tighter. The sounds of the sea water lapping against the boat soothed me.
When nobody wanted to let me in, he was there for me. He took a chance for me, when all his friends mocked me. Even when I pushed him away, he wouldn’t give up on me. Nobody has ever done that for me and I know now that I will probably never find someone like him as long as I live.
For the first time in my life, I felt like it was okay to be different, to be me. Just as I am.
I was slowly drifting away, but he was with me and that was all that mattered.
“I love you” I said, and there was nothing else in the world that I was more certain of.
And with that, he smiled, looking like he could burst with joy, and kissed me tenderly until we fell asleep in each other’s arms.
THE REAL END!
The whole story ended quickly hey? I really need to plan out things then post...(thoughtful look and shrug) Hoped you are liked it anyway!!! ;)
Good bye (4 now), I will still be continuing with Forbidden if you guys want to read my stuff.
