My Fairy Tale

I want to live a fairy tale life.

Like Cinderella -
That rags-to-riches story,
And my glass slipper to
Tell my tale.

Or the third son of the miller
Who was left with the most
Multi-talented, crafty cat.
And soon they all exclaim,
Dropping to their feet,
"All hail, the Marquis of Carabas!"

Or the renown Prince Charming
Whom Rapunzel's sweet song and fair hair enchanted,
And his blind love led him quite far.

Or like Sleeping Beauty -
Who met her other half
In her most pleasant dreams.

And I'll prick my finger
And expect to sleep for a hundred years
Until someone comes and saves me.

That's what all those stories tell me.

(And I hope to live happily ever after.)
