Him and Her

It slipped past him...like a ghost playing hide and seek, then, without realizing it, she was becoming a part of him.

At first Tony thoguht she was annoying, he thought that she was a ditz and not that pretty. She was flat chested and a little more pudgier than the skinny girls he hung out with.

Then, she stopped talking to him, and he felt starnge, weirded out, rejected.

He couldn't shake this feelings.

Until he found out that he was actually attracted to her.

Tony knew he couldn't shake the feeling off until he does something about it.

So, he kissed her.

It's what you do when you like someone, right?

Right.

The two went out, it was annoying at first, but Tony learned to deal with it and how to cope with dealing.

Dealing?

Yes. Such as, he would buy her an ice cream cone and she would drive him home after he was done with his track practice. He would help her with her with geometry and she would return the favor by teaching him about chemicals.

It was an unspoken trade.

They never kissed much, and Tony didn't mind that, either. She never asked for a kiss like those pushy girls he dated before.

She never wore skimpy outfits, either. She wasn't that type of girl who was a bit pudgy and wore tight shirts wirh short denim mini skirts.

Somehow, she got less annoying, too. She wasn't a clingy girlfriend, but she never let him go, either. If he was talking to one of his friends of the opposite gender, she would understand...because she had friends that were boys.

And wasn't it alright for her to talk to them?

Yes, yes it was.

But don't get him wrong, she had some bad habits, too.

Such as, she would always comb his hair back, and always buttoned up his shirts.

She would always nag him about his health and made him eat fruits.

She would always sigh at other girls for their thiness, and he would tell ehr time and time over again that she was fine, just the way she was.

This went on for a year, than, another, and another. The two were soon going off to College, now.

Without knowing it, she was becoming a part of who he was.

When dining, he would comb back his hair when he was on his way to work.

Without knowing it, he buttoned up his shrits for a job interview.

And always ate his everyday fruits.

About a month later, the two were sitting on the steps of their university. Her, peeling apples, and him studying chemicals.

He never really got science that well.

Tony looked over at his side and stared at the girl next to him.

She was pretty, you know, with her hair down.

And she wasn't necessarily that fat. In fact, she wans't at all, only if you compare her to the skinny models.

She was also smart, too, not the ditz that she pretended to be.

"Want one?"

"Sure."

Tony picked the apple slice out of her hands and bit it.

He looked at the apple, then at her.

"Hey...you wanna get married?"

Just like that. Just a simple sentence. No ring, or anything. Juts, totally out of the blue.

She looked at him, not yelling in delight like some other girl, or crying like another.

Just a smile.

A pure smile.

The longer you are around a certain person, the more you'll become like them, and the more they'll be like you.
