The Gargoyle’s Song
There is a life behind these stony walls
There is a tear upon this emotionless face
There is a love inside this hardened soul
There is a beauty where no sees
Find it in me, the gargoyle
Bound and chained to this place called earth
Scorned and mocked for these ugly looks
One day hoping, to be free again
And spread my wings into the wind
Look to me, the gargoyle
I have no means to shed this skin
These teeth of stone, this wicked grin
I know not of a pleasant smile
These claws that shred, this demon’s child
Fear this beast, the gargoyle
There is no way to show my emotion
There is no thing that will bend this frown
There is no one to hear my prayers
Except the God in the heavens, immortal one
Listen to me, a gargoyle
