I still see you

When I close my eyes;

Haunted by your

Echoes, no surprise

In breaking down.

Sifting through dying dreams to find

The remnants of your face,

And memory would be unkind

Forever in this place;

Will no one tell me why

I was forced to fall?
Though there I live a lie,

Here I do not live at all.

... or is there no difference?

Ceaseless sorrow cycles here

A constant presence, never fading,

I'll give away the memories

For numbness- ever trading.

You hurt me.

I can't help but forgive you

The nightmares of the past;

Regret I will not harbor for

A love that, still, does last

With me alone.
