It's time for change

By The Angel Of Hope

Do you see these hands, the hands of a black man who has been denied the right to live as any other man?

Because the color of his skin, has been told your not welcomed in, and has had white women hide their purse at the site of him?

Can you look past the darkness of my skin and find the beauty within?

Just because I haven’t seen slavery does that mean the thought of it shouldn’t hurt me?

I’m brown eyed and come from a culture where the woman have thick thighs.

Your blue eyed and come from a culture that’s known for telling lies.

I’m not saying your all wrong, i’m just saying this has gone on for too long.

Allot of you are saying it was 500years ago let it go, but 9/11 was years ago, and you all still have tears to flow.

It once hurt me to know I had these thought, felt these thoughts, but now I proudly brag about these thoughts.

All my black people out there put your fist in the air, and show them we can do more than just say we care.

From the light skin, to dark sin, the red skin, even the white man lets all raise that hand.

I stand in front of a crowed of people, and demand to be their equal.

It has to start with someone, and hopefully ends with everyone.
