In a large kingdom named Sendray, there lived three princesses and a king. The three princesses were sisters. The oldest is Summer, she is 19 and the one that ran the kingdom because their mother was dead and the king, Lyon, their father, was in his bed all the time because he was always ill after her death. Summer has blonde hair that reaches her ankles. She always has it braided with a ribbon and wore sensible dresses. She has blue eyes and a royal face with an even temper.

Autumn is the second princess. She is the younger sister of Summer and a typical red-head. She has red hair that she keeps down in waves reaching down to her thighs. She is 17 with an elegant face with green eyes and a royal temper. She is the airhead of the three sisters but level headed when it came to clothing and her family. She is the most domestic of her sisters.

Winter is the youngest sister. She is 15 and a mix of her older sisters personalities. She had a temper and could command people with ease. She is kind and a tomboy. She has black hair that reaches just past her shoulders that she tied back into a ponytail. She has high cheekbones and wide brown eyes. She is the most ordinary looking of her sisters. She has no commanding air and she is always wearing boys’ clothes. She learned how to fight using the sword and she knows how to do hand to hand combat. She can use a bow and a dagger because sometimes, she goes out to hunt with the huntsmen.

Today was Summer’s coronation to be officially be crowned official ruler of the kingdom. From all over the land, there would be delegates coming over to pledge allegiance to Sendry. There were supposed to be a delegate coming over from the Elvin land, Elsesine, a delegate from the water land, Aquarian, and a delegate from the mountainous land, Quartez. Summer was in her room getting ready as well as Autumn. Winter was sitting in her room, staring out the window with a dreamy look on her pale face. Autumn glided into the room a while later, her face registered Winter’s appearance and she gasped, “Winter!”

“Hmm?”

“Why aren’t you dressed? Summer’s coronation starts soon!”

“So? I don’t take me more than five minutes to dress.”

“Winter Raven Sendry! Get up this minute and get dressed!”

“Mm.”

“If you don’t, I’ll tell everybody that you used to wet the bed!”

“You wouldn’t!”

“Wouldn’t I?”

Winter sighed, “Fine, fine. I’ll go dress.”

“Good. Hurry up. I’m going to do your hair.”

“But-“

“Don’t worry, I won’t make it too elaborate.”

“Humph.”

“Go Winter.”

Winter got up from her seat with a heavy sigh. She plodded over to the changing screen and changed into her long blue open tunic that her sisters had specially made for her. Along with that came a long sleeved gray turtleneck shirt and long gray trousers with shiny black ankle boots. She tied on the gray silk sash and went to her sister. “I told you I would be done in 5 minutes.”

“I never said you couldn’t. Now, sit,” Autumn said, gesturing toward a chair conveniently put in front of a mirror. Winter sighed and mumbled to herself, “You’re no fun.”

“Humph. Who said I have to be? Sit still!”

The door to Winter’s bedroom opened again and Summer’s head popped in, “Autumn, Winter?”

“We’re in here, Summer,” called Autumn. Summer let herself in and walked toward Autumn and Winter. She was wearing a heavy purple overcoat over a simple long gray silk dress. Her hair was done into a bun with few loose strands to frame her face. Autumn was wearing a green dress with a white brocade belt. The collar was ruffled slightly and tied close with a white ribbon. She covered herself with an embroidered white shawl. Overall, her outfit was the most elaborate. Her flaming red hair was left down in waves with pearls weaved in it. She arranged Winter’s black hair into a simple braid and tied a blue ribbon on the end. She announced, “There! I’m done.”

Winter turned her head to see what her sister had arranged her hair into. Seeing the braid, she smiled approvingly. “Thanks sis. Nice and simple.”

“Humph. If I had my way, I would have arranged it into a French braid with-“

“Let’s go, the ceremony will be starting soon. You and Winter have to be there before me too. You can look at the delegates coming from the other lands.”

“I don’t want to.”

“Winter, please? I get you out of a lesson with Lord Geoffry.”

Winter grinned, “Really?”

“Yes, but you have to behave.”

“Yeah, yeah, whatever.”

“Winter!” Autumn reproved, “Don’t use such common language.”

“Whatever, c’mon, let’s just get moving.”
