Los Gitanos

¿Dónde están las vias y ruedas?

¿Dónde están las riendas y bridas?

¿Qué ocurrió a las noches bajo estrellas

Y la libertad de la campiña y alegra de vida?

¿Por qué perdieron la alineada y baile?

¿Por qué perdieron la música y canción?

¿Por qué los gitanos estirón forzado sobreseimiento

Y en las ciudades vivieron?

Oprimieron bajo el reino de Franco

Forzado rogar y robar

Y sufrieron crueldad a los manos del payos

Y en las calles os necesitaron trabajar

Where are the reigns and the bridle?

What happened to the nights under stars

And the freedom of the field and the joy of life?

Why did they lose the clothing and dance?

Why did they loose the music and singing?

Why were the gypsies forced to stay

And work in the cities?

Oppressed under the reign of Franco

Forced to beg and to steal

They suffered cruelty at the hands of the payos

And had to work in the streets

A/N: 'payo' is a Spanish word for a non-gypsy. I know this poem needs a lot of work, but I'm trying to improve my Spanish and poetry seems to be working with my Irish knowledge shrugs
